Thank you to all those who participated in storytime this year. Every child who participated had their name added on an 🍎 on our board. Those who came this week took their apple off and added it to their craft. We will see you again for Storytime in the fall! ... See MoreSee Less

It makes my day when a little piece of Boissevain history walks in the door, that we didn’t have before in the archives. This is the Dow Cockshutt Dealership which was located on the current Prairie Partners site at the corner of South Railway and Cherry St (Thank you to the Dow family for bringing in the copy to scan) ... So I’m not sure what is up with the disappearing plants this year…but we have had four of the canna plants walk away
We grow these to put in the bed beside the library and for the Arts Park.
We often share cuttings or little plants as part of our programs. But please ask before assuming you can help yourself?

We are often asked what we have growing in the windows. This year we have a few new ideas: seed snails of vegetable plants (check out the previous post on those), a pineapple plant (yes it’s a top off a regular pineapple 🍍 and will be years before we hopefully see fruit 🤞🏻), and some peanuts! ... We often get asked what can you find in the archives? It’s not an easy question to answer as there is a wide range of materials submitted. As an example - here is a selection of clippings from a submission:
1. An article on Miles Philips (no date or indication of name of paper -likely Wpg or Brandon)
2. Apparently there is drainage pipe 9 feet down under South Railway St…
3. The history of putting on drama productions is strong in this community. Here is the program from a 1953 production and the article on the production from The Recorder!
